Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center was first established in 2010, with the aim of teaching Turkish to foreigners, based on the language centers operating in Turkey and the world and today's changing conditions.
It aims to help hundreds of foreign students who come to our university, as well as Erasmus students and individuals who want to learn Turkish as a foreign language for various reasons, in language learning. Founded for this purpose, ÇOMÜ TÖMER teaches basic language skills and vocabulary at basic, intermediate and advanced levels.

History
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University Turkish Teaching Application and Research Center was established within Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University in 2010, with the aim of teaching Turkish to foreigners, based on the language centers operating in Turkey and the world and today's changing conditions.
It aims to help hundreds of foreign students who come to our university, as well as Erasmus students and individuals who want to learn Turkish as a foreign language for various reasons, in language learning. Founded for this purpose, ÇOMÜ TÖMER teaches basic language skills and vocabulary at basic, intermediate and advanced levels.

Mission

• To support all kinds of activities regarding teaching Turkish to foreigners.
• To create classroom environments where foreign students can learn Turkish.
• To consider the Turkish language not only as language teaching, but also to convey our culture to students along with the language and to organize out-of-class activities for this purpose.
• To share information about language teaching by establishing relationships with language teaching centers operating both in Turkey and outside Türkiye.
• To prepare an environment for academic studies on teaching Turkish to foreigners.
• To assist in the application studies of the Master's program in Teaching Turkish to Foreigners within our university.

Vision
Studies in teaching a language to foreigners must be qualified both institutionally and practically. Being aware of this situation, while teaching Turkish to foreigners, we carry out education and training activities in the light of scientific and contemporary developments, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. ÇOMÜ TÖMER aims to conduct studies in this field and reach new developments and practices in language teaching.

Education system
Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University TÖMER courses; It is carried out in the form of reading, listening, speaking and writing activities in language classes, supported by expert instructors in the field, with the most appropriate audio-visual tools and educational materials for language teaching.
The courses organized by ÇOMÜ TÖMER are organized in various ways according to the student profile they host. Students studying at our center:

• Foreign students who are accepted to our university or universities in surrounding provinces within the scope of Türkiye Scholarships. (During the training season)
• Foreign students who are placed in our University subject to the placement system determined by our University. (During the semester and/or training season)
• Foreign students living in Turkey within the framework of the ERASMUS program. (Semesterly)
• Foreign faculty members working at our university. (Semesterly)
• Businessmen and employees who are in our city due to their commercial activities. (Personal)
• Participants who are in our city due to migration, marriage and many other reasons. (Personal)

The exchange rates have been created according to the exchange rate systems stipulated in the Council of Europe Common Application Framework for Foreign Languages. Language certificates are given to our students who complete the basic, intermediate and advanced levels.
